Andre Iguodala represented the 76ers at the reception to honor the top readers in the annual “Read for Ronald” program and to thank all those involved in the success of the program over the past 15 years.

30 elementary and middle schools participated in the community service contest to see who could read the most minutes for the Ronald McDonald House. In total, the students read over 800,000 minutes and raised just shy of $90,000 for charity. Both the minutes read and the monetary totals combined are the highest in the history of the contest.

After a roaring introduction, Andre Iguodala was welcomed by the nearly 200 guests, many of whom were sporting Sixers jerseys and gear. When the top readers from the 30 schools were announced, both Ronald and Iguodala posed for pictures with the groups, creating a lasting memory of a job well done.

Iguodala was honored to be a part of the event, sticking around to sign many autographs and take even more photos. "The Read for Ronald program is a great way to get kids excited about community service," Iguodala said at the conclusion of the program. "It makes it even more special when kids are involved in the effort."

While the Sixers star was certainly a highlight, the effort and excitement of the kids could not be outdone. As a final salute, Iguodala, Ronald, and other guests applauded all of the children involved and congratulated them for their tremendous success.
